What is a WIFI Infrared People Counter IPC01?
WIFI Infrared People Counter IPC01 is a rechargeable battery wifi version infrared people counter, the distance can be 1-40M. You can check the number of the people directly on the display screen,and in and out is separate, and if it have a computer within 35m, the data will be sent automatically to the computer by wifi.
The advantage is Stable performance, accurate, reliable, easy to install, low maintenance, and very affordable. Can use APP to check the data, can upload data to computer.
Principle of infrared people counter
The principle of intelligent infrared people counter is to use two devices of infrared people counter and reflection installed on both sides of the entrance area, which will automatically count once a target passes by blocking the infrared rays.
When the infrared people counter works, the modulated pulse generated by the internal oscillation circuit is radiated by the transmitter tube after the reflection circuit. When the object to be measured enters the range of action of the light receiver, the light pulse reflected back into the photodiode. And in the receiving circuit, the light pulse is demodulated into electrical pulse signal, then amplified by the amplifier and synchronous selective shaping, and then the interference is eliminated by digital integration or RC integration, and finally the passenger flow counting signal is output by the delayed (or not delayed) trigger driver.
General infrared passenger flow counter adopts counter technology, the machine is divided into transmitting source and receiving source, respectively installed in the main channel position, such as doorway, building and other sides, when someone passes, infrared will be blocked, at this time count one person, and so on, can count how many people pass by every day, so as to achieve the principle of counting the number of people. The data generated by the general counter will be stored in the internal chip, and then the CPU will determine how many people come in and out. The data generated can be transferred to the computer through the data line, and then the software installed in the computer will do the analysis for the manager to analyze, thus generating commercial value.

The influence of atmospheric absorption: in the infrared radiation process, due to the absorption of the atmosphere is always subject to a certain amount of energy weakening, instantly select the wavelength area is very strong “atmospheric window” range, it is not possible to pass 100%.
The impact of sunlight radiation: detection object in the case of reflection and diffuse reflection of sunlight, the object in the case of direct sunlight question changes, the proportion of the wavelength zone is not fixed extremely easy to infrared passenger flow counter to identify the impact.
The impact of wind: detection object in the outdoor open-air situation movement, in windy conditions, subject to wind convection cooling resulting in the reduction of equipment temperature, will also cause errors in detection accuracy.

Unpack the cover of the terminal
When you receive the people counter, opening the box and you can find the two people counters. Try to open it and you can put the battery inside.
You can see the screen displaying startup information, including count data of two directions and current time. The screen will automatically shut off if no operation in 10 seconds to reduce power consumption. After screen closed, the red indicator light is used as infrared receive signal indication. This light will continuously be flickering if passenger flow counting terminal cannot receive any infrared signal from infrared transmitter or infrared signal blocked. So this indicator light will help us find the mounting position of infrared transmitter.
This is touch antenna, when we are conducting touch operation, the yellow indicator light will light up. We can inquiry various information the counting terminal through touching operation, such as current power, product ID, working parameters and working period. Such information is automatically downloaded by this counting terminal from cloud or set up by phone.
Lighting up of yellow indicator also acts as power alarm, when battery voltage is too low, the indicator will be flickering and remind you to charge or replace the batteries, there is a USB interface which can be used to supply power or charge the device if you do not want to use battery, in this case, the yellow indicator keep lighting.
There is a blue indicator for WIFI network transmission indication.
Now I will introduce the infrared transmitter, unpack the cover and load the battery, the blue indicator flickers three times which means the device started normally.
Load the batteries
When battery voltage is too low, the red indicator will be flickering to remind you charge or replace the battery. Now we put the infrared transmitter and the passenger flow counting terminal within a face to face position, then the red indicator in terminal stops flickering. This means the device is ready for use.
There is a dial switch on infrared transmitter, No.1 switch is used to control the frequency of transmitter which needs to be corresponding with the moving speed set by terminal. If it is set to be high speed, then the No.1 switch should be dialed to high-speed position. If the No.2 switch is dialed to enhance position, the infrared signal can transmit a further distance. After changed the position of dial switch, the device needs to be reloaded batteries and restarted.
When the battery power is low, please use matched charger to charge the battery, it may costs about 6 hours, after charging completed, the green indicator will light up.
Firstly, we should ensure the installation position having a good WIFI coverage, if the WIFI signal is too weak, the terminal will be more power consumption when connecting to network, or even it may be unable to connect network. The simplest way is checking the intensity of WIFI network signal at installation position by our cellphone.
Install the terminal, it is important to note that there is an arrow inside the terminal, the direction of the arrow must be compliance with pedestrian’s actual entering direction, thus we only can install the terminal at the right side of this door. The terminal should be parallel installed, as we can see there is no surface for directly fixing in this side, we can only use supporting brackets in order to ensure alignment of terminal and infrared transmitter.
