Systém EAS (elektronický dohled nad zbožím), známý také jako elektronický systém proti krádeži, je jedním z bezpečnostních opatření pro zboží, která se hojně používají ve velkoplošném maloobchodě.
Systém EAS se skládá především ze tří částí: senzoru, deaktivátor a elektronický štítek a visačka. Elektronické štítky se dělí na měkké etikety a tvrdé štítky. Měkké etikety mají nízké náklady a lepí se přímo na "tvrdé" zboží. Měkké etikety nelze opakovaně použít; Jednorázové náklady na tvrdou etiketu jsou vyšší než na měkkou, ale lze ji opakovaně použít. Tvrdé štítky musí být vybaveny speciálními vytahovači hřebíků, které se většinou používají pro měkké a snadno prostupné oděvní výrobky. Většina dekodérů jsou bezkontaktní zařízení s určitou výškou dekódování. Když pokladní odbavuje zboží nebo tašky, lze elektronickou etiketu dekódovat, aniž by se dotkla dekódovací plochy. Existuje také zařízení, které kombinuje dekodér a laserový snímač čárových kódů, takže sběr zboží a dekódování lze provést najednou a usnadnit tak práci pokladní. Tato metoda musí spolupracovat s dodavatelem laserového čárového kódu, aby se eliminovalo vzájemné rušení mezi nimi a zlepšila se citlivost dekódování. Když je nekódované zboží odnášeno z obchodního centra, spustí se alarm, když projde detekčním zařízením (většinou ve tvaru dveří), aby připomněl pokladníkovi, zákazníkům a pracovníkům ostrahy obchodního centra, že se jím mají včas zabývat.
